The 3-holed and 1-holed shaker are 3½" or 9 cm tall. I decided to add these to my Valentine's Day collection because the shakers have heart designs on them. The 3-holed shaker's hearts are red and darker pink. The 1-holed shaker's hearts are red and lighter pink. Both have red and purple accents between the two heart designs. The designs are on the white tops. The 3-holed shaker has crazing on the white area. The bases were probably a dark red originally, but they have faded. Both shakers have their stoppers and ©1962 HOLT-HOWARD on their bottoms. |

PS I Love You! What a great Valentine's Day set of salt and pepper shakers. Here sits a red set of salt and pepper shakers that become a heart when placed together. The "P" and "S" are white letters on the red heart. How clever to state which shaker is the "P"epper and which is the "S"alt. The pepper has 3 holes and the salt has 2 holes. Together standing 2¾" or 7cm, they sit on top of a holder and form a heart. The holder the front and back are white with red polka dots and the words "I Love You" the sides are pink with bigger white polka dots. When all together they stand 3½" or 9cm high. The Queens, standing 4¼" or 11cm high, have light brown hair and blue eyes. Both shakers are the same except the 3-holed shaker has a tray of muffins on her left hip and the 2-holed shaker has her tray of muffins on her right hip. The holes are on top of the queens gold crowns. They're wearing white gowns accented with red hearts along with gold flecks on the bottom. They're wearing red coats buttoned in the front with a heart. There is white with gold accents around the edges of the coats. There's a gold line that goes all the way around the base of the set that ends where the words "Queens of Hearts" are written on the front below the Queens. The Queen of Hearts shakers are a part of a series that include Little Miss Muffet, Red Ridding Hood, and a set I have as a part of my Easter collection, Mary Had a Little Lamb. The Queens fit very nice in my Valentine's Day collection considering they are so nicely accented with their hearts. Both have cork stoppers.
